How to embrace the change of seasons

How to embrace the change of seasons

Good morning! I hope the sun is shining where you are. If not, there’s always hope for tomorrow. Today, I wanted to chat about the change of seasons. I’m not just talking spring, summer, autumn, winter. I’m talking in life. Our life is full of seasons. Wonderfully full and happy ones, harder ones, calm ones, cloudy ones, sunny ones.

Stopping dyeing your hair… that itself is a shift in season.

Away from a phase of your life where you were used to looking in the mirror and seeing a certain reflection. For some, it’s an easy transition and no big deal. For others, it can feel like a huge adjustment.

When it comes to ditching the dye, one of the best pieces of advice I was given is to embrace the change.

Don’t put too much pressure on yourself. Check in with how you feel. If it consistently doesn’t feel right, you can always go back. If you’re feeling a bit uncertain, roll with it for a while but keep listening to what makes you feel good. Be patient. Don’t expect to instantly feel 100% in love with your new look. It takes time.

Especially when, particularly for women, there are still a lot of negative connotations surrounding ageing and dyeing your hair. But there’s something so wonderfully freeing about letting go and embracing the change. ‘Letting yourself go’ can be seen in such a negative light, but I refuse to turn on that switch.

That isn’t to say that you reach the other side of your dye free journey and are eternally thrilled with how you look. Feelings ebb and flow, just like seasons. I for one want to embrace them all.

Any thoughts to share or advice needed, feel free to drop us a message on Facebook or Instagram or to our email [email protected]. Keep sending your spring silver selfies to us too, we love to see them! Here’s to letting go.
