Are White Hot products tested on animals?
No, White Hot products are not tested on animals. They are made in Britain and are formulated to comply with the principles of Cruelty Free International with a fixed cut off date of 11/03/13.
Are White Hot products suitable for vegetarians and vegans?
All White Hot products are suitable for vegetarians and vegans.
Do White Hot products contain parabens and sulphates?
White Hot products do NOT contain parabens.
Our shampoos contain SLES (Sodium Laureth Sulphate) as a cleansing ingredient because it is effective at low concentrations for the superior cleansing that white and grey hair needs. It is used at this low level to give a mild but effective cleanse. As with all cosmetics, the formulations are assessed for safety by an independent toxicologist before we sell them.
Do any White Hot products contain silicones that will discolour my hair?
Whilst there are advanced technology silicones in all products except for the Shooshing Crème – these are modern silicones delivering conditioning shine and comb-ability. They should not cause discolouration.
Which White Hot products contain brighteners?
Brilliant Shampoo and Intense Lustre Mask both contain optical brighteners to banish any brassy tones and give your grey a brightening boost.
Do White Hot products contain palm oil?
Palm oil is widely used in the manufacture of cosmetics ingredients. Although White Hot does not use palm oil as an ingredient in its own right, derivatives may be found in some of our ingredients, for example, Sodium Laureth Sulfate. Wherever possible, we use derivatives that are sourced from sustainability schemes such as Round Table for Sustainable Palm Oil.
Is White Hot packaging recyclable?
White Hot's products are largely recyclable, but some components will need to be separated into general household waste. We continue to work on fully recyclable product packaging and if you would like specific recycling details, please contact our Customer Care team.
Are White Hot's products right for me?
I’m on my way to grey but not completely dye free yet - what do you recommend?
We suggest trying our every day, creamy formula Glorious Shampoo followed by Luminous Conditioner as they are both hydrating, moisturising and packed full of nutrients to care for your hair on the way to grey. We would recommend you avoid using Brilliant Shampoo and Intense Lustre Mask as they contain violet pigment designed to brighten and banish yellow tones - this could discolour any remaining dye.
I’m allergic to hair dye, are White Hot products suitable for me?
As with any beauty product, you should take care when using something new if you have known allergies. If you are allergic to hair dye it is important that you do not use any hair colouring product until you have undergone patch testing with a dermatologist. While Brilliant Shampoo and Intense Lustre Mask contain a very small amount of pigment, you may wish to avoid them if you are allergic to dye. You should seek immediate medical advice if you experience any adverse reaction.
I’m blonde. Can I use White Hot products?
Absolutely! We have many blonde customers who find that White Hot products keep their hair feeling nourished and bright, avoiding those dreaded yellow tones. Our Brilliant Shampoo and Intense Lustre Mask, both gentle violet formulas are designed for brightening, however we would suggest waiting for 2 weeks after dyeing before use as bleaching hair can make it slightly more porous, meaning you might not get the desired results straight away.
My hair is dyed silver. Can I use White Hot products?
As Brilliant Shampoo and Intense Lustre Mask contain optical brighteners which are specially designed to banish dull and yellowy tones in white and grey hair, if used on dyed hair they could potentially lift the dye. Therefore, we do not recommend using these particular products on hair that is dyed grey or silver. However, your newly dyed hair may feel in need of moisturising, so you could use Glorious Shampoo and Luminous Conditioner which will nourish your hair as well as giving it a shine-giving cleanse.
How often should I use your brightening products?
As both Brilliant Shampoo and Intense Lustre Mask are gentle, violet formulas and contain optical brighteners, we suggest only using them when you need a brightening boost. We recommend using Brilliant Shampoo to brighten every few washes and Intense Lustre Mask once a week for a hydrating, deep condition and boost.
I have a sensitive scalp. Can I use your products?
Although our formulas are gentle, they haven’t been produced with sensitive scalps in mind. If you have a sensitive scalp, we would also suggest a patch test before initial use.
I have had chemotherapy. Can I use your products?
Our products all have gentle formulas, however we suggest asking your doctor for further advice and then do a patch test before using. As reactions to chemotherapy differ from person to person, your scalp and skin might be more sensitive. We have a generous refund policy, and if you did find that any of our products didn’t agree with you, we will put it right.
Help! I appear to have had an allergic reaction to your products.
If you experience any adverse reaction to any of our products, please stop using them immediately and seek medical advice if necessary.

Can I use multiple discount codes at the checkout?
You can only use one discount code per order. If you enter a second discount code, it will cancel out the first code. Our Welcome discount is WELCOME for 15% off. This must be entered manually.
Can I use a discount code on top of a promotion?
If your order is compatible with a promotion, you cannot use another discount code while receiving a discount from a promotion.
However, if a promotion is ‘3 for £30’ on individual items for example, but you wanted to buy a Shine Duo- you could use a WELCOME discount code for 15% off if you haven’t used this code previously.
I haven’t received a confirmation email, what can I do?
Firstly, check your spam folder… they have a habit of ending up in there. If you still can’t find it, please contact the Customer Care team and we can inform you of your order number.
Help! My email isn’t being accepted..
Our system can sometimes struggle processing an email address that has been copied and pasted at the checkout. We suggest refreshing your browser, typing it in manually and trying once more.

If you make a call to White Hot, the call rates are chargeable at 2p per minute from a BT landline. Please be aware though, that calls made from other operators and mobile phones may be charged at higher rates, so do check with your provider before calling us.
Where is White Hot based?
We are a small, independent haircare brand based in Nottingham, in the centre of the UK. Our products are also manufactured in the UK in small batches.
