Winter is coming. Your silver can still be ‘white hot’ even in the colder months. Chillier climates, increased time inside heated buildings and harsher weather can dry out our hair. I thought I’d share my top tips for keeping my grey feeling its best all year round. Firstly, use hair masks. Our Intense Lustre Mask, a 3-minute miracle giving vital deep conditioning and hydration to dried out and thirsty hair is just what you need. Use once a week as the weather gets colder, for added bounce, shine and a super-charged boost of brightness. The perfect addition to an evening of pampering, pop it on when you’re lying in the bath, read a few pages of your book (my current read is David Nichols’ ‘Sweet Sorrow’) and you will be well on your way to hydrated, revitalised silver. Secondly, discover Lifeshine Oil. When your grey feels dried out, dull and tired, Lifeshine Oil, with extracts from the Baobab or Tree of Life, is your best friend. Multi-purpose, light-weight nourishment for your grey. It can be used on wet or dry hair, so it’s ideal for applying after the shower, or after a chilly day outside. Smooth those strays, hydrate those ends and give your hair that little bit of extra care. Next up…go NATURAL. Now, I realise this isn’t as easy for cuts that need a bit of styling- but laying off the heated stylers gives your silver a break and reduces the chance of any yellowing. As the weather gets a little wilder and there is potentially more rainfall, leaving your hair to dry in its natural way not only saves time but also saves the condition. Saying that…. Don’t leave the house with WET hair when the temperature drops. Some experts say that freezing air on wet hair increases the chance of breakage. While that conjures up hair like silver icicles, we’d say give it a quick blast with a hair dryer that adapts the temperature to avoid damage and pop a bit of Lifeshine Oil on beforehand as a treatment. Lastly, don’t skip the conditioner. Our Luminous Conditioner is a rich, creamy formula for lustrous flex and shine, with smoothing and strengthening KeravisTM for bounce and moisturising extracts of White Truffle. In winter, your grey needs all the hydration it can get, so now is not the time to ditch the conditioner! As always, if you need any extra help or advice on White Hot product choices or hair care tips, feel free to contact the team at customercare@whitehothair.co.uk or via our Facebook page. Stay warm!
